Christine Robertson
Christine has held diverse roles in tertiary teaching and senior executive leadership across public and private education and training institutes, as well as dual-sector universities in Australia.
Currently, she is the Interim CEO at Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT), the largest provider of vocational education and training in the Australian Capital Territory. In this role, Christine is spearheading major initiatives to elevate education outcomes for students and industry partners. Her leadership focuses on integrating contemporary digital technologies and modernising campuses to meet the rising demand for advanced technical and foundational work skills that align with both current and future knowledge and skills requirements.
Christine is driving CIT's strategy development, supporting the Board in crafting a forward-thinking decadal plan to position the Institute for future growth and expansion. Her extensive knowledge of the tertiary education sector, combined with her expertise in navigating state and commonwealth regulatory, operational, and policy environments, underscores her visionary leadership.
Recognised as an innovator in the vocational education and training sector, Christine has successfully led the creation and implementation of collaborative education and training partnerships across government, industry, and community enterprises in Australia and Southeast Asia. Her strategic approach harnesses the potential of digital technologies, ensuring CIT remains at the forefront of educational excellence and industry relevance.
Christine is the Chair of the Board of the VET Development Centre, a Director and former Deputy Chair of TAFE Directors Australia and a Director of CBRIN, the Canberra Innovation Network.
